Jim Hicks VP Design/Principal
Jim is well known and respected within the Fire Sprinkler industry. He has worked with code officials, engineers and architects on projects in over 22 states. He holds a NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) Level IV certification and is a member of the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association). He has over 40 years experience in project management and extensive experience in the design of fire protection systems in commercial, industrial, residential and special hazard foam systems. He has been a managing member of the company since its beginning in 1999 and manages its design group. Jim retired at the end of 2013.
Ken Brinkley VP Sales/Principal
Ken started in the fire sprinkler industry at the age of 18 as a co-op from high school drafting in the afternoons. Upon graduation he began to work full time as a designer and project manager and after a few years moved into estimating and sales. Ken holds NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) Level III in Automatic Sprinkler System Layout and NICET Level II in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems certifications. He also has been a managing member of the company since its inception and manages its sales and estimating functions. Ken currently serves as President of the TFSCA (Tennessee Fire Sprinkler Contractors Association) and the NFSA (National Fire Sprinkler Association) Contractors Council.
Carl Phillips Secretary/Treasurer
Carl has a BA in Accountancy from David Lipscomb University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has 11 years of audit and financial reporting experience in public practice, including four years with a Big Six firm. Other than 2 years spent as Controller for a large local General Contractor the rest of his career has been in the fire sprinkler industry (17 years). He has been a managing member of the company since its inception and manages all of the administrative functions of the business.

James began working in the fire protection industry as a fitter in 1984 and worked his way up to foreman installing different types of sprinkler systems on various size jobs. When Music City Fire Sprinkler, LLC was looking for someone to manage the installation and control the quality of the operation, James was the perfect choice.
